Due to labour day we couldn't find any place to stay where we had planned to in Santa Barbera wine country. We therefore consulted the GPS and the first thing that came up was this hotel - Union Hotel in Los Alamos.
The whole experience in Los Alamos was amazing and the hotel and staff especially were a nice, and in a way, surreal encounter. The hotel is all decorated in old, classic western style and the rooms are just amazingly pretty in the old, traditional American way of seeing pretty. We are not the only ones that find this hotel enchanting. Among other things, the actual room we stayed in - room number 2 - has a part in the old 80s "Say say say-video" starring Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson (about 2.40 into the movie they are in the room pictured above and there are a few more scenes from the hotel later on in the video). I can really recommend the hotel if you want an unusual and somewhat surreal experience.
