He was given a choice between the two barns and he was told he was to keep everything the barn of his choice contained. One barn, he was told, was full of pure gold, emeralds, silver and diamonds - enough to keep a kingdom going for a hundred years - and the other barn was full of hay. Well, the choice had been difficult, obviously. He had hesitated quite a lot and the outcome, well, at least his cows had enough food for the winter now.
